With respect to the jousting between brocko and Putin, George Will (who used to be a wordsmith of some note) put it this way: “in a contest between a dilettante and a dictator, bet on the latter.”
That was one of the few coherent statements-of-fact I’ve seen credited to ol’ George in many moons.

Great quote. As you say, one of the few memorable things Will has come up with.
