It seems that people who emote, rather than think, can’t distinguish between fencing invaders out, and fencing citizens in. Powers didn’t specifically reference the Berlin Wall; but, many of her ilk have tried to make that exact comparison.
The ability to control who enters your country is the essence of sovereignty. Every country does this, in one way or another. OTOH, keeping citizens from leaving (as the Berlin Wall did), is a violation of international human rights laws.
All the spying on phone calls and emails and text don't mean crap if the terrorist can waltz across our southern border with the drug dealers, murderers and rapist!

36 miles of a legally REQUIRED 700 mile border fence is NOT an effort.
I know there are many but here are three things one can count as fact regarding this government: the US Mexico border will never be officially secured as to stop illegal immigrantation, law only applies to and will be enforced on the common blue collar middle class citizens who believe the Constitution is America’s rule book, the IRS and the current tax system is not going anywhere.

Even the Berlin Wall with mine fields, watch towers, dog patrols, machine gun death strips and guards with shoot to kill orders didn’t deter people from successfully getting across the border. A fenced border will slow the current waves of illegals, but not stop the flow.
The fence is the POISON PILL. The Dems are UNABLE to take it psychologically, just as she stated.
It is our ONE WAY to kill the bill. The Dems will accept ANYTHING ELSE related to border enforcement, because they know the benefit of the demographic shift once they get these people (legally) voting.
What I want is legal immigrants only, so they can be regulated and have some assimilation instead of turning some places into enclaves of Little Mexico.; instead of coughing up billions more in welfare and even SS; instead of having every answering service say press 2 for Spanish, etc. etc.
Like most Dem progressives (should be regressives), Kirsten know nothing of history and has been stuffed with liberal illogic and party line lies. No other country in the world has open borders.
She should travel through Europe by auto and try crossing a border without stopping to have her passport stamped. Or she should go to Mexicio with no visa, no money no job and find herself in jai.

I think, in the same statement, she said she did not want to live in a country with a fence. She, probably, lives in a gated community or apartment with a door man, either way, she should not let the gate hit her in the ass as she leaves.
