I agree, made me look forward to Sunday nights.

I agree as well. We used to turn HBO on and off with our cable company, solely to watch The Sopranos each season. One of the greatest TV dramas ever, IMO.
My husband, sister and I met the actors who played Paulie Walnuts (Tony Sirico) and Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri (Steve Schirripa) in May 2011 at Gasbarro's Fine Wines and Spirits on the Massachusetts/Rhode Island border - big Italian area. The two Sopranos actors were there to promote the new "Sopranos" line of wines. It was a "bottle-signing" event, much like a book-signing, lol. Sirico and Schirripa were signing bottles of wine.
An incredibly huge crowd came to the free event, but Sirico and Schirripa stayed until the last bottle was signed. We had only a few seconds to speak to each of them. My husband mimicked a funny "Paulie Walnuts" line to Sirico, he laughed. I thanked him for his work with the USO providing entertainment for our troops over the years - he seemed to appreciate that.
Sirico and Gandolfini went on many USO tours, visiting our troops overseas, I believe including Iraq and Afghanistan. I think Gandolfini was a lib, but Sirico is pretty conservative, from what I've heard.
The two of them were pretty funny, polite and appeared to be very much like their characters on The Sopranos. I mean that in a funny way, not a mob-like way. ;-)
