A driver who witnessed the fiery crash that killed journalist Michael Hastings says the vehicle the 33-year-old was driving shook his car "like a freight truck" as it flew by early Tuesday morning in Los Angeles.
"Was stopped at a red light tonight when a pearl white Mercedes flew past," Michael Carter wrote on Facebook a few hours later. "It shook my car like a freight truck going by. Saw it burst into flames a quarter mile down the road when it hit a tree."
In a Facebook message to Yahoo News, Carter explained in detail what he saw:

I just realized that too, on my 3rd look at the film. If he’s doing 100mph+ and the car’s supposedly uncontrollable, no way in hell he’s going to negotiate those intersections’ turns. I’m hearing Black Helicopters outside, now...

The mexican in this video seems to say the car was on fire before it hit the tree! have watched it twice but I’ll bet that is not what the cop interpreter gets!

There were no turns, that’s a strait arrow BVD. All he had to do was keep it straight until he could shut her down. But I think he was either out of it or gone already one of the two!
If there was fire in the cock pit the materials burning would have asphyxiated him. Prob why the driver window was down.

That is not a cop car it is the news guy from Loudlabs thats a scanner you hear. That was my question if you see the vid where Hastings ran the red light, the news guy does not take that path. Why? I do not know, he went a block down and back and back around which is strange in it’s self because you would have seen footage down the street if he would have followed Hastings . What else is strange is we have 2 fire trucks on initial arrival but no Ambulance????
