Ted Cruz (R-TX) launched a national petition on Thursday to stop the Senate Gang of Eight's amnesty bill and send Washington a "strong signal" of the grassroots opposition to the bill.Cruz urged supporters to share the petition with friends and to "act now--without delay--to help us defeat amnesty and stand for legal immigration!"

I am sure he does admire Cruz's position, but if you think giving him an email address for some ethereal petition, will make any difference in how the vote is going, then you are a little naive.
The Corker-Moron amendment will get a vote in 75 hours, the fix is in and they will pass the bill, the House will pass Trey Gowdy's bill and we are toast.
There is a simple solution that involves no new legislation or spending, enforce current law. No one of consequence is taking to the floor of the Senate or Well of the House to shout this to the roof tops.

These days, I go months without posting... now at home after hiking the PCT (210 miles) nursing an injury with plans to get back on the trail within days. That said; I just wanted to sign a petition knowing the thing would be worth about the cost of the paper it’s printed on, and lo and behold the dang blasted link leads to a campaign fundraiser. Whoops! A ruse is a ruse no matter how much lipstick ya’ wanna’ rub on it. Being a keyboard commando is hard work! Thankfully, now and then, a sentient human being stumbles into me here at FR. Thanks for dropping by and giving a hoot.
Add in Drug test to qualify for any and all social programs, SNAP, Section 8, Medical Care, unemployment, SSI, all of them.
