This bill was a nightmare.
It was 80 PERCENT FOOD STAMPS.

Could this be a sign of people’s mood.. when they try and pass immigration?
To: ConservativeMan55
Maybe congress is finally in a mood to fight.

Was corn mentioned (in the bill) as being for eating or drinking and not to be used as fuel?

Who knew that urban handouts were the same as agriculture?
Constitutionally, the Fed Govt should have nothing to do with dirt, plants, critters, land or farmers. This is state business.

But, did it fail because not enough was being spent, or because it was too big?
Personally, I say scrap everything within the bill. Let states handle their own welfare programs.

They call it the farm bill but it’s the Department of Agriculture appropriations bill. That will still need to be funded.

Apparently a lot of Dems didn’t like the cuts to food stamp program, and authorization for states to impose work requirements for food stamps

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has said [before the vote] he has concerns about the legislation but wants to get the bill to House and Senate negotiators for a potential deal. He said he will vote for it, saying the change in policy is better than doing nothing.
If any other company were to rush out a half baked product that affects millions of people, because "it's better than nothing", they'll be out of business.
(Well, almost any company except Microsoft anyway.)

Fox News is calling it “a defeat for Republican leadership.” If Republican leadership are in support of it, does that mean that it was rejected because it didn’t have enough food stamps and farm subsidies?
