Associated Press president Gary Pruitt on Wednesday slammed the Department of Justice for acting as “judge, jury and executioner” in the seizure of the news organization’s phone records and he said some of the wire service’s longtime sources have clammed up in fear.

I understand and agree that bloggers are reporting it. However, the stories need investigation to further unfold what happened. The story needs Woodward and Bernstein.
Sorry, only so-called Republican scandals get the Woodward and Bernstein treatment (and Watergate was a nothingburger scandal anyway).

When you have the MSM reporting on a story it doesn’t make any difference if the entire MSM has the exact same BS story.
The new media can dissect the MSM’s BS story, weed out what isn’t true and eventually get to the truth.
It doesn’t work the other way because the new media doesn’t have the resources to gather the news.
You need a starting point. The MSM gives you a starting point no matter how big a bucket of BS it is.
Without a starting point you end up getting a large number of opinions which people often confuse as facts.
The person with the biggest following can spout their opinion, people will accept it as fact, and a falsehood then becomes the accepted truth.
For example you could have 100% facts to support your position on a subject and Rush could have 30% facts and 70% BS opinion to support his.
More people would end up believing Rush’s version of the news even though he is only 30% correct, than your 100% correct version because he has more followers.
The govt. wouldn’t care how many versions of the “truth” there is, the more the merrier.

I am sure AP really doesn’t mind a bit. This is an easy exit for them.
So now they can just make up stuff with a clear conscience. Losers.
The Democratic scandals got the “Drudge” treatment.
