Would agree that calling the House's effort to ban all abortions after 22 weeks "white supremacist" or "racist" is moronic. Maybe I'm confused, but this may not be the first time that this Salamisha Tillet gained national attention for saying something off the wall.

I know I might take some flack here for my constitutionalist view on this, but can someone tell me what enumerated Congressional power in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution (or anywhere else in the Constitution for that matter) gives Congress the authority to legislate on the subject of abortion? Seems to me that this is a power reserved to the states or the people, as per the Tenth Amendment.

You totally misunderstand the Tenth Amendment, then.

The Tenth deals with legitimate POWERS. And no government, federal or state, has legitimate power to alienate the supreme UNALIENABLE God-given individual right, which is the right to live.

In fact, according to this free republic’s founders, all governments exist, before anything else, to DEFEND innocent human life, and to provide equal protection to all. It is an absolute duty.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men...”

And the Fourteenth Amendment made it explicit, for anyone who misses the forest for the trees.

“No State shall deprive any person of life without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

And finally, the ultimate stated purpose of the U.S. Constitution is to protect the unborn.

“We the People of the United States, in Order to...secure the Blessings of Liberty to...our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment provides, inter alia, “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

Section 5 of the Fourteenth Amendment provides “The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.”

Thus, Section 5 of the Fourteenth Amendment empowers Congress to enforce any violations of Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment, including those that occur when states permit the taking of innocent human life through abortion.

Correct me if I am wrong but are black women aborting their babies more than white women ? so how can this duffus come to this conclusion that if abortion is banned that it would bring back white supremacy ?
