Had no idea he'd succumbed to his illness. I'm so behind on current events these days it's bewildering. He was a damn enthralling storyteller and a very fine man. Each morning when I awake a copy of
Protect And Defend greets me.
I read it a fer piece back and never stashed it on my bookshelf; his paperback just remains there on my hutch where I placed it after finishing it one night when I just couldn't close it up before reaching the end. RIP

Oh, no. I didn’t realize he was in such bad shape. He gave me many hours of enjoyment and showed us what trouble is around us in the world.
I will miss his work. I will miss Mitch. He bent and broke the rules and got the job done that no on else could.
