The news cast seems to show a middle class type neighborhood.

Now, I know nothing about LA, but I have a hard time believing a car gets that fast and into a telephone pole without ... outside .. assistance.

I grew up near there. The speed limit on Highland Avenue is about 35 miles per avenue. Highland runs through a nice residential area. That guy was driving way too fast.
