I remember James Kallstrom, the FBI lead investigator for the TWA 800 crash, changed his mind about the missile. In the beginning he said it was a missile, then he changed his tune right after that. Within a couple of days of TWA Flt. 800 going down Kallstrom was summoned to Washington. It was after his return from Washington that he got behind the exploding empty fuel tank theory to the exclusion of all other possible causes. Kallstrom got his marching orders from his handlers at FBI headquarters.
