I don’t know if 2/3 conservative majority control in each House is possible after 2014 elections. But do patriots understand that if conservatives had that much control in both Houses that conservatives would have constitutional authority under the Constitution’s Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I to override presidential vetoes? If conservatives had such control of Congress then Obama would practically be a lame duck president for his last two years in office, a lame duck president arguably being what the Founding States had intended by design for all presidents.
Damn straight.
The vanishing point in that picture is where?????
and worse is that what has been thought cannot be un-thought
The Republicans won in a record landslide that left them in control of the House and 30 state houses and legislatures.
The GOP-e, then showed how much they relished that vote by convincing their friends on the RNC to fire the chairman.
They then subsequently lost again to Obama, didn't win the Senate, and almost lost the House.
If we have to go into the 2014 election with the current RNC leadership, we may very well lose it!
"Nanner, manner, boo-boo"
Believe it or not, the GOP could actually pick up a House seat In Minnesota of all places.
Collin Peterson is the ranking minority member of the Ag Committee (also a former chair when the Dems controlled the House) and a member of the House since 1990. There has been talk of him retiring in 2014.
His district has a fairly good GOP lean to it - although Dems can do well because of a fairly large number of farmers who buy into the old Grange/Farmer Labor/Non-Partisan League crap.
The district voted in favor of a gay marriage ban and for voter ID in the 2012 elections. it has a socially conservative bent to it. Mitt Romney won the district in 2012 as well.
For those of you geographically inclined, here’s a map of the district:

Michael Steel was an idiot and had very little to do with the rise of the tea parties which brought the victories of 2010.
Two weeks after he spoke at our county dinner, he said white Republicans were scared of him. I had a picture of him with my wife and I on my refrigerator demonstrating how scared we were.

As the Republican chairman the least he could have done was raise Republican’s image with Blacks and instead he crapped on it.
Republicans have a lot of faults but don’t hold Steele up as a blameless sacrificial lamb he was an immense incompetent.
Pass amnesty and the Democrats will win the House by 40-plus votes.
“I never ever want to see Nancy Pelosi in the Speakers Chair again, but By God I do not want to see Boehner there either.”
Personally, I’d like to see both of them in pine box! Due to natural causes of course.
” Obama would practically be a lame duck president for his last two years in office,”
Which would mean that he and his pet monkey would try to bankrupt the country with their vacations.
Given that Congress has the constitutional power of the purse, a conservative supermajority in Congress could override Obama’s vetoes, grounding Obama while they impeach him.
I don't have to defend anything he did to note this ~ while he was RNC chairman we had the greatest victory in 70 years. Since he's been gone we've lost with another GOP-e candidate, and our Congressional victories have not been nearly as magniicent.
So, just maybe, whatever Mike didn't do is the thing the RNC chairman ought to be not doing.
Just before the election we were told by pollsters Obama was losing. When we’re told Obama won’t have a majority after mid-terms, I don’t trust that info.
Personally, I remember that most polls were heavily over-sampling Dems, & as a result we didn’t believe them. It turned out that they were correct - they knew they’d be able to pull all the blacks & low-fo voters to elect the cool guy. Well, the cool guy wasn’t on the ballot in 2010 & all those new voters didn’t turn out. They won’t turn out in 2014 either, most likely. We ought to be able to make some headway in both the House & Senate if we can come up with some decent candidates.
