However, in this instance I don't believe he is picking on RC's anymore than he is picking on Protestants. He was referencing how religious affiliation is a determinate of political view in the 6 counties and the Republic of Ireland.
In the USA I don't think obama has a particular vendetta against RC's. He beat up their church pretty good before thew election and they still voted for him. If anything he probably views the RCC as a paper tiger.
In terms of ObamaCare, his rulings have attacked pro-life Christians, the largest body and most consistent over time of which has been the Catholic Church.
On the contrary, Marxism has always known, and still believes, that their only viable global enemy is the Catholic Church.
