Local police have arrested two Russians trying to smuggle 213 brown bear paws, according to a source from Manzhouli Customs in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Monday.
The bear paws were found on May 22, in the possession of two Russians who were carrying them inside their car tyres whilst on their way to China.
The number of paws attempted to be smuggled is the highest recorded to date.
Bear's paw is a delicacy in Chinese cuisine and also used to treat rheumatism in traditional Chinese medicine.

They’re illegally killing bears in America, too—and then they ship the parts they want to China.
Unbearable...
That has got to be bad news for any species, finding out one of your organs is a traditional medicine for the most populous ethnicity on the planet. Several years ago I read an article where poachers were getting $1500 for a gall bladder out of a black bear.
Why would they want to eat bear paws? Bear CLAWS are much better.
Ingredients 1-1/2 cups cold butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces 5 cups all-purpose flour, divided 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast 1-1/4 cups half-and-half cream 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 1 egg white 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar 1/2 cup almond paste, cubed 1 tablespoon water Coarse or granulated sugar Sliced almonds Directions
That would be 52 four legged bears and one 5 legged bear.
Those freakin’ Chinese are singlehandedly wiping out species after species in pursuit of a hot time with TingTing or curing a bellyache. With their so-strict forced effort to limit their population, it would seem they don’t need artificial aids to perform in the bedroom. Why then are they killing so many animals, and in such cruel ways, to make their marital aids and such?
The looks of those tires must have been apawling.
You mean like eatin oysters?
You wanna eat oysters, you go right ahead. They have only a very rudimentary nervous system and so would not probably feel a lot of pain when opened.
Why did the cops stop the two Russians if the paws were hidden in the tires? Were they not sobear?
Thank you for the lol.
Hell I would eat anything that didn’t eat me first, bear stew and a bear skin rug sounds good.
Yes, the tread was bear.
The strongest liquor I ever tasted was bear juice. When I was in South Korea I met a group of liquor hunters, who made it their sole missions in life to find and drink the strongest liquor that wouldn’t kill you. They insisted that alcoholic drinks made in China were always the strongest. I took one shot of bear juice and felt drunk for 3 days. I was unable to down a 2nd shot.

Just yesterday I had a delicious flank steak that I had placed inside my tire while driving to Canada and back.
I can’t bear this thread any more, it’s getting tiresome!
