The reason it says “matches” is because Federal Rule of Evidence 1005 which covers “Copies of Public Records To Prove Content” states “The proponent may use a copy to prove the content of an official record — or of a document that was recorded or filed in a public office as authorized by law — if these conditions are met: the record or document is otherwise admissible; and the copy is certified as correct in accordance with Rule 902(4) or is testified to be correct by a witness who has COMPARED it with the original. If no such copy can be obtained by reasonable diligence, then the proponent may use other evidence to prove the content.”

When the Hawaii Registrar of Vital Statistics compared the copy with the original, he found that the data on the copy “MATCHES” what is on the original.
The Mississippi federal judge will decide whether the wording of the Letter of Verification from Hawaii is probative evidence or not.

According to other authors represented by the same publicist, they submitted their own bios to the publisher, and that they were required to approve the final copy. In Obama’s case, there were no less than four different versions of this bio, as they were updated to reflect his ascension to various offices. Do you really believe that Obama never claimed to be born in Kenya?

The publicist said that it was her copy assistant’s error. When a father and son have the same name, its easy to confuse the two.
How do you explain an article in the New York Times that was written a year earlier than the book publicity bio, when Obama was elected President of the Harvard Law Review, which says he was born in Hawaii?

A year before the bio, Obama had been elected President of Volume at the Harvard Law Review and the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune and other papers ran biographical articles about Obama being the first black to hold that position. Every one of those articles named Hawaii as Obama’s birthplace.
It was “birthers” who under a Freedom of Information Act request uncovered an Immigration and Naturalization Service memo from INS Agent William Wood who interviewed the father, Barack Senior about his request for a visa extension on August. 31, 1961, when Barack II was three weeks old. The memo documents Barack Senior listing Honolulu, Hawaii as his son’s birthplace.

For one thing, the discussion about Kenya/not Kenya is moot becuase “Barack Hussein Obama” is not his birth name, nor a legal name now. His docs are forged. What people should be disucssing is WHY are his docs forged (or hidden/scrubbed) and what IS is legal name, who are his parents, what is his date and place of birth?

I happen to believe that he may have been born in Hawaii but claimed foreign birth in order to commit financial aid fraud. It’s inconceivable (yes, that word means what I think it means) that Obama himself did not know about these biographies. He is a liar, pure and simple. He’s either lying now about being born in Hawaii, or he was lying then about being born in Kenya. Apologies if that realization is uncomfortable for you, Mr. Obama Defender.
There is no evidence he was born in Hawaii. Until actual documents or proof are made public, every “fact” about his identity is unknown.
As I said, I have no problem at all with your belief and your rationale for it. You could well be right. Who knows.
It just doesn’t make sense TO ME that there would be so many nationally syndicated newspaper articles written before this bio was written that name Hawaii as his birthplace.
The bio was written in 1991. By that time Obama had been out of Columbia for eight years. Besides there is much more financial aid available for an American minority group student than there is for foreign students and the first thing any financial aid officer is going to look at is a foreign student’s I-20 student visa. Obama had been living in Hawaii since he was ten years old. There is no way to carry a student visa for that long. There is no record of him having a student visa, ever.
I think its best to nail Obama on easily proven FACTS not guesses.

Professor Graff said that neither he nor his colleagues ever taught a student named Obama, and that he personally remembers and taught every major politician whom attended Columbia as they all had to come through his classes—except Obama.
