It's hard to fight the monumental corruption of the Obama Administration when those fighting it are not exactly "clean".

Cornyn isn’t double-dipping. That would be wrong. He’s TRIPLE-DIPPING and that’s completely different!

I don’t think he’s done anything vaguely illegal. The overpayment in the public sector, especially with pensions for early retirees, is obscene and should be changed, but that’s not really Cornyn’s fault.

Did he do the job expected for those pensions? Yes! Case closed. Everyone has the same opportunities that this Senator had and either didn’t do, didn’t want to do the work involved or didn’t have the intellect it takes to do the jobs. Good for him for planning his life he desired. Since rules have changed and the pensions today are not as good starting out. People will have to make decisions knowing this.

How is that unclean? Did he earn those pensions or is he somehow defrauding the government? If the rules say he gets pensions from previous jobs, what's all the hullabaloo about?

Same thing is done in the corporate world.

Speaking from personal experience, with a retired close relative who draws three pensions from three companies. Plus Social Security.

And he earned every dime of it.

Throughout all history before nations fell those on the 'inside' looted the treasuries. It didn't help them much as at the 'crash' their money became basically as worthless as their lives. eg: The French Revolution

This is NOTHING compared to what goes on in California. There is nothing illegal at all about most of it. It may show what dummies the public is for electing and re-electing politicians who write perfectly legal laws to feed themselves lavishly at the public trough like this, but it is perfectly legal as long as the public is dumb enough to tolerate it.

I have had difficulty understanding what TX see in Cornyn, but I don’t think he has ever lost an election. People just feel comfortable with their “friendly incumbent”.

...when those fighting it are not exactly "clean".

If he hasn't broken the law and played by the rules, how is that not exactly "clean".

That's just how public servants keep their reputations in tack.

There’s nothing illegal about Cornyn getting multiple pensions. I think the public pension system should be done away with because over time it becomes a real drain on public finances. I think if you get rid of public pensions and reduce taxation, the American public will have more money to save. In general, I think taxes should be a lot lower, government services be more limited, and people should then be responsible for saving for their own retirements.

Back to Cornyn: He is real squishy on certain issues like immigration. Many Texas republicans are weak in this area. They don’t want to offend a big slice of the Texas electorate by appearing “anti-Mexican”. I think their biggest problem is their inability to articulate why insecure borders is bad for all Texians, both Anglo and those of Mexican ethnicity. Their lack of communications skills and lack of courage on this issue will be their undoing.

Employed 1991 – 1997: Pension equals $48,807 per year for only 8yrs. F’n service which included expense accounts and health care benefits

Employed 1999 – 2002: Pension equals $10,132 per year for only 3 yrs. F’n service which included expense accounts and health care benefits

With this kind of government largess that includes Republicans, it’s virtually impossible to make any argument against the Democrap party that includes such an abuse of taxpayer funded pension plans……..

No problem with Cornyn receiving a pension for six years on the judiciary! May he enjoy his retirement at (I hope) age 65 with $48,800 per year!

However, I had a six figure income with a Fortune 25 company, and after 17 years with the company, I’m very proud to receive $18,000 per year!

Maybe I should have devoted my talents to six years working in public service!

ALL of the leadership is like this... and this is what obama knows through his spies and how he is blackmailing officials... from the SCOTUS to the House and Senate.
