While I am no fan of ODimwit, this has been going on for DECADES and went into full speed with the passage of the Patriot Act. We wanna unite as a Nation at least for this purpose? Then we need to call out all the tyrants, not just the one. And there are plenty of GOP tyrants to go around as well.

Exactly! Dems are now defending programs they attacked when Bush did them, but the GOP is equally opportunistic -- they're now echoing the criticisms that were made ten years ago by the likes of Russell Feingold, the only Senator who voted against the PATRIOT Act. (Hint: He's not generally considered a conservative icon.)

When a Republican is back in the White House, everyone will switch sides again.

And that is the real story. Like the 70 or so Conservatives who broke with the Republican party on immigration, we need our representatives to serve the Constitution as they pledged to do and not a political party. BOTH Republicans and Democrats failed to protect our God given rights secured by the Constitution. BOTH are corrupted.
