He was claiming that “probable cause” isn’t found at all in the 4th amendment.

He could not be more wrong.

My father was Assistant Property Officer for the Florida National Guard from about 1946 until he retired about 1970. He was a staunch conservative for the most part but on some issues he would defend the stance taken by the military establishment.

One day we were arguing gun control and he told me that the various state guard units were the constitutional militia. He them pulled out a brochure published by MOWW, The Military Order of World Wars, claiming so.

I told him they were full of crap! He had already had a couple of small strokes at that time so I ended the discussion, didn't want to push too hard.

I tried to hijack the brochure, but he wouldn't let me keep it.

Many in the military have been exposed to propaganda like this brochure, and they believe it.
