Why Do Republicans Support Something That Will Eliminate Their Party?

Because the Republican party is complicit — or if it is not, then it is useless in the extreme — consider the following:

  1. When has the GOP pushed for wholesale reduction of FedGov agencies?
  2. When has the GOP pushed back on executive overstepping, such as ending the "War on Drugs"?
  3. What has the GOP been saying about the revelation of NSA's domestic spying?
  4. When was the last time they pushed for the repeal of GCA or NFA?
  5. When was the last time they pushed for the illegalization of abortion?
(They pushed of-course-I-support-abortion-for-rape-and-incest Romney, even as they added a "not even for incest or rape" to the official anti-abortion plank.)
  6. Accountability: What's become of Fast & Furious? What's become of Benghazi? What's been going on with the IRS political-targeting? What's likely going to happen with the gross overstepping of the NSA, violating the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments?
No, the GOP cannot have achieved failure so spectacular by means of mere incompetence: they are complicit.

That is the only explanation. Anyone who still believes that there are two parties is just plain dumb.
