Wind not only blows, it sucks as well.
Wind Power promised NOTHING.....
.....POLITICIANS did the promising.
“Wind power has failed to deliver what it promised”
Since it was state of the art centuries ago it does what we know it can do - it is why the creativity of man moved passed it to newer technology and this whole earth/wind envirowacko movement is designed to stop mankind’s advancement.
The big problem is dissipation of energy. There was a recent study claiming this but I don’t have it handy to quote. Doesn’t matter, I’ve said the same thing for years.
It’s obvious, especially so on wind farms.
Basically as the wind spins the blades on the windmills it absorbs energy from the wind. That can have effects downwind of the farm.
The wind now has less potential energy and that can cause warming, cooling, less rainfall and other unintended and unforseen results.
It alters the weather downwind possibly and probably with devastating effects.
So much hot air...
A proposed wind farm in Osage County, Oklahoma has applied for one of these “permits” saying their windmills would kill three eagles per year for 30 years.
Mandate by adding a amendment to every energy bill that every single federal government building must be powered exclusively by wind power by 2016...
As the Environmental wackos say: âIt was unexpected.â
Now the really bad news! If your "backup" power is from coal fired plants you need to be clairvoyant. A typical coal fired, steam driven turbine/generator system needs about 24 hours to do a "cold start" (go from a cold boiler to full power synchronized to the grid output). Since wind power can drop to zero at a moments notice and operators are seldom clairvoyant you are forced to keep the boilers hot and the turbines turning even when the wind is blowing. This is not a problem for a nuclear powered plant but we're are shutting those down as they reach their design life (about 30 years) and not replacing them.
Wind power is fickle, we need to build modular nuclear plants using a thermal breeder reactor that uses the thorium fuel cycle in a fluoride-based molten (liquid) salt fuel to achieve high operating temperatures at atmospheric pressure. Modular so that a design can be "type certified" to streamline the licensing process and then built as standardized units.
