Indeed, he did do it the right way. Since a permit is required to open carry in that jurisdiction she was well within the scope of her authority to ask to see it. Reacting to the officer’s request rudely would been wrong and stupid. Treating the officer with the same level of courtesy and respect with which she treated him was the right thing to do.
