An Israeli watchdog group has complained that Israel's embassy in Washington falsely published that Netanyahu endorsed the "two-state solution" in the Knesset earlier this month.
The false statement appeared in the Embassy's June 7 email update, according to the watchdog group, Mattot Arim.
In fact, Mattot Arim said, the reported event never happened. The Prime Minister had refrained from mentioning the term 2-state solution when speaking in the Knesset, the group said.
"If PM Netanyahu had spoken of the 2-state solution, all sorts of duly elected officials would not of course have been able to participate in the approval vote for the prime minister at the end of the speech," said Mattot Arim, citing campaign promises of many ministers to oppose a Palestinian state.
The watchdog group, Mattot Arim, said it was "disgracefully unprofessional for the embassy to be falsifying delicate political facts in this way.
Netanyahu endorsed a "demilitarized Palestinian state" in a 2009 speech at Bar Ilan University. He has not retracted this position since then.

Also incredibly naive to believe that it would remain demilitarized for long. They’re not even demilitarized now. They just use the sniper rifles they have for offing infants in their strollers is all.
Michael Oren doing an end around Lieberman on behalf of Bibi?
A right wing attempt to discredit Bibi? There seems to be a serious challenge to Netanyahu brewing:

Can’t come soon enough for me.
“Netanyahu fears that if the court is run by a right-wing political activist like Weiser, hawks on the Likud central committee could take him to court whenever he takes actions that violates the committees decisions, such as the decision opposing a Palestinian state or a potential decision to reject the merger with Yisrael Beytenu that he covets.
The worst-case scenario for Netanyahu is that the central committee could take action to initiate a leadership race in which he could be overthrown. If he had his man at the helm of the court, those moves could be stopped.
Netanyahu thought he had the right man for the job: A retired judge with a Likud background named Nissim Yeshaya. But then Yeshaya got in trouble for saying that some women enjoy rape, and then another judge said no new candidates for chairman of the court could join the race which could mean an easy victory for Weiser.
I dont intend to use the court to persuade people to accept my views, Weiser said when informed of Netanyahus concern. I just want to help the Likud, which is in a bad state. The court doesnt normally deal with ideological disputes. But if he is afraid of running the party according to its constitution, then yes, he has what to worry about if I win.
LOL.
