I remember this when Bill Lewdinsky Clinton was running for re-erection! They sent letters to all WHITE churches and warned us NOT to mention the election at all or we would lose our tax exemptions They did NOT send these letters to black churches and they sent speakers to those churches, drumming up votes for our real first black prez I was so hurt that for the first time in my life there was no mention of the election, no prayer for the “state” for the best people to win the election and lead USA.
