My b-i-l, now deceased , was an independent, semi truck owner/operator. While in N.Y.C., he needed to go into a business for a few minutes and had no place to park.
Seeing a meter maid, he asked her if he could double park for less than 5 minutes. She told him to go ahead.
He double parked, went into the business and was back in less than 5 minutes, only to find that there was a $150 ticket on his wind shield and to add insult to injury, his drivers side window had been smashed in and his briefcase stolen. Thereafter he refused to take loads to N.Y.C.
That is awful!
