Wouldn’t the government treasury replace the bills if they receive proof of the ripped up notes? In America I would think they would.
This is China, so they’ll probably send her to a labor camp for destruction of state property.
This is NOT America. However, they replaced part of it. Perhaps the termiets totally consumed $9000 worth.
I will say that the Chinese government is very careful with its money. Tourists are nt allowed to take it out of the country. I was on a cruise there in 1983, and upon returning to the ship in Shanghai I had to turn in all my Chinese money. I had tried to spend it all, but I had a few coins left. The Bank of China took it and refunded me a US dime!
Wouldnt the government treasury replace the bills if they receive proof of the ripped up notes?..In 1977, as a cop, we had a house fire. My partner and I went inside to save three people. The dude kept saying “ I need my ammo box! I need my ammo box!” I cold-cocked him to stay out of the house. Doug and I damn fried getting them out. After the fire, we went back to find the guy crying in the middle of the charred, burnt ashes with his ammo box. “I’ve lost my life savings, Dad’s life savings and my wife’s life savings you SOB’. Inside the box was a huge pile of ashes. The guy living next to my house was a Treasury agent and I took the ammo box to him. He took it to Washington, DC. where they weighed it or did something to the ashes and the victim received $200,000 in the mail sometime down the road.
