In a response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from Americans for Limited Government, the Internal Revenue Service revealed this month that 201 of its employees work full-time on union activities.
A lot of people are not aware that under federal law, a federal agency is allowed to enter into a collective bargaining agreement with a union that has provisions where employees of the agency, in this case the IRS, are allowed to do union work on the taxpayers time and get paid for it, ALG president and Nathan Mehrens explained in an interview with The Daily Caller.

It is a subsidy to a private entity to do the private entitys job, he added. Why should we as taxpayers be paying for this? It is not as if taxpayers are paying to subsidize my organization.

Unless that collective bargaining agreement states this is allowed, the government should back charge the union for all hours spent on union business. Let the union pay them out of dues.
I hate to break this to you but it’s not just the IRS.
It is not unusual for union reps in most governmental agencies to work full-time on union activities Monday thru Friday ... then get paid overtime for working their regular jobs on weekends.
This is true. DoD, National Park Service, Ag Department, Justice Department, etc....they all have such people. There’s probably 3,000 such employees within the government who work like this.
How do we get into this Collective Bargaining deal? We could use the money to pay our tax preparer.
And it’s not just on the Federal level.
Pretty standard for Big Union. I’ve got a cousin who is a union organizer and he spends probably 80% on union business and the rest of his time using up vacation time. All at company expense.

The head of the treasury union wrote a LTE to the WSJ published yesterday.
It was a pack of lies asserting there was no political motive in the investigations of tea party groups and further that the union is non-partisan.

With the UAW shop stewards, they just punch in, head for a liquor store to by a 24 pack and then go home and drink until it’s time to go back to the plant to punch out. Or, alternatively the just head for the local strip club and take in the “entertainment” to fill out their shift.
What percentage of the 3000 work feverishly to get democrats elected?
