When are we going to abolish government education and put an end to petty little Kinder Gestapo agents like this punk.
“...and not simply read a government approved speech.”
I like the way this young man talks - says it all in just a few words.
All I can say is wow, unbelieveable some petty bureaucrat wants to take this approach. He should be happy this is not my son.
I guess this principle must not like his job. This might fly in California or New York, but he’s going to find Texas is far less forgiving of his antics.
Sasser is kinda’ showing himself in a bad light. The service academies are all into that “honor and integrity” stuff.
If he presented a speech to the school that was approved - and then he read a different speech - it might be said that he lied.

Tell the liberal geek administrator:
“All behavior has consequences, so you do whatever you want to do.”
Hmmmm, a public school principal who doesn’t believe in the First Amendment to the Constitution. What a surprise.
On behalf of all clear thinking Texas school administrators - active and retired - I am embarrassed and furious over Cochran’s asinine, childish, vindictive and petty behavior. What an ass and I apologize to all donkeys and mules for lumping them in with this figgin’ idiot. His sorry butt better be in the superintendent’s office for a serious attitude adjustment. If not, I hope the kid sues the whole damn district and cleans them out!
“Mick Cochran threatened to write a letter to the U.S. Naval Academy disparaging the character of Remington Reimer.”
If this is true, shame on Principal Cochran, and shame on whoever hired him in the first place.
Whatever speech the kid gave, and whatever school rules he may or may not have broken, threatening this young man’s future is grossly disproportionate and the act of a petty tyrant.
Honor Concept of the United States Naval Academy
“Midshipmen are persons of integrity: They stand for that which is right.
They tell the truth and ensure that the full truth is known. They do not lie.
They embrace fairness in all actions. They ensure that work submitted as their own is their own, and that assistance received from any source is authorized and properly documented. They do not cheat.
They respect the property of others and ensure that others are able to benefit from the use of their own property. They do not steal.”
This young man could be a poster boy for the Honor Concept.
Sadly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the politically correct twits at the Academy withdrew this young man’s appointment...
Did he?
Public education these days is, above all, about compliance. The ‘best’ students are the compliant ones.
In this case, it looks like a rebel got through the system.
Without defending the high school principal in this, I have to ask if this student graduates from the Naval Academy then what is he going to do if he is given an order he doesn’t like?
The idiot principal needs to know we can write letters, too.
Lots of them.
This young man is precisely the kind of man I want as a Naval Officer.
Someone send Hank Hill on over to that high school.
I think the that school head reports to the school board who, in turn, have to answer to the school tax payers. Seems like some time for district voters to make their own opinions known.
