I don’t know what he is but I know this his oath is to the Constitution not to a government. If Obama is spyingon American citizens absent probable cause this violates the Constitution and these guys are duty bound to make it public. If Obama was killing American citizens who were wanted for nothing would the reporter be guilty of treason for reporting it?

Ah, wait a minute....

“This guy thinks he has a higher morality, that he can see clearer than other 299-million 999-thousand 999 of us...”

Well, I can’t speak for everyone else but make that 299-million, 999-thousand, 998 of us, because I wasn’t permitted to see this widespread monitoring of US citizens in order to make a moral judgment. It was a secret kept from the very people who are being monitored. Given what little I DO know based on these leaks—that the US government routinely collects vast amounts of information on US citizens without a warrant based on probable cause and specifically stating what will be searched and collected, I think Snowden is a hero! The 4th Amendment clearly does NOT permit wide scale and indiscriminate data mining!

This is the first time I ever disagree with bolton.

Here I believe he is guilty of temporary insanity.

Treason is Constitutionally elected officials disregarding the Document they took an oath to uphold. The Fourth Amendment protects the citizens from undo search and seizure. Bolton needs to correct his course and hang the whistle-blow-ees instead of the whistle-blow-er.

I’ve always had a dual attitude toward Bolton. He has been strong on defense against foreign threats. He was good at the UN. But he never struck me as very conservative in other respects. Or at least, not that one could tell.

The problem is, we have a government and a security system that waves bunches of Muslims in burnooses on board airplanes without any inspection, that admits Saudis without even questioning them, that instructs the military to say that they must never question or offend Muslims but need to keep a tight lid on Christians.

You know darned well that any information sucked up by these programs will be used not to identify Muslim terrorists, but to spy on Tea Partiers and conservatives and gun owners.

If we’re worried about terrorists planning attacks in this country, then maybe we shouldn’t admit them by the millions and put them on welfare. Just yesterday, they were babbling about admitting any Syrian terrorists who feel threatened by Assad.

What that means, of course, is that the “security” put in place by Bush was mistaken, because even if he meant well, it was a very bad precedent, when even in his day all the security agencies were overrun by Clintonoids and leftists.

Wow.

When John Bolton decides he wants to jump the shark, he doesn’t mess around.

Two things that we need to clarify:

(1) How can Snowden not be a traitor and Manning be a traitor?

This distinction needs to be made, otherwise the left will say: "The right said Manning was a traitor because his actions made Obama look bad on national security, but they are calling Snowden a patriot because his actions makes Obama look bad on civil liberties."

(2) If Snowden is not committing treason, then is there even such a thing as treason?

The foreign interventionists in the Republican party are in full defense mode.

They are totally on board with the idea of monitoring domestic phone calls. All in the name of our safety. Guess they didn't listen to Ben.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Is Bolton implying MOST Americans are willing to surrender their 4th amendment rights to grab a handfull of demented Muslims?????

Hardly surprising since Bolton was a key element in the administration of the idiot who preceded the current idiot.

I just lost a lot of repsect for Bolton.

Sorry, John.

I totally disagree.

When the government is violating Americans’ Constitutional freedoms so blatantly,it is a duty to speak out.

The Constitution does not require years of legal training to understand. Any reasonable person of goodwill and integrity who can read will have little difficulty understanding the intent to forge a limited government.

Many years of education and training ARE required in order to twist the language of the Constitution in order to enable undeclared wars, gun confiscation, abortion,DUI roadblocks, seizures of property without conviction of a crime, incarceration or killing of citizens without trials, and all the other attacks on private freedom and property ownership.

Far from a traitor Snowden may well have saved our liberty. I think the reason why every-body’s private phone records, e-mails etc. are being monitored is due to insidious political correctness. We cannot profile the bad guys so like the TSA we body search little old ladies in wheelchairs, toddlers and everyone else in the hopes that we might find a terrorist. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack by examining every piece of straw rather than using a metal detector since we know needles are metal.

Usually,I agree 100% with John Bolton but this time I don’t.He said that Snowden has committed”Treason”because he thought he was doing”The Right Thing”and yet the other 299.999 million of us think otherwise?Mr. Bolton fails to take into account the fact that the rest of us NEVER would have found out what was going on at The NSA without Edward Snowden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
