Here’s how professors are chosen at schools. They apply, then the other teachers in the department examine their teaching credentials, beliefs, etc to be sure THEY FIT IN with the department. If you disagree with their beliefs, even if you’re another Einstein, you’re out. No independent hiring authority to insure diversity of thought.
Teaching credentials don't count at most colleges. Maybe they do in junior colleges but they count for nothing in most four year institutions and all research institutions .
