Better than a child genius (they tend to burn out quickly), Ed is a self-taught computer geek. No college degree...I'm not sure he even finished his GED. Self-taught and learned the tricks of the trade.
But he has worked inside the beast and knows the trip-wires first hand.
He is inspiring real fear among those who previously felt fearless.
IMO, as long as he has publicity he is...somewhat safe. If/When this dies out, well, you are dealing with people who take revenge very very seriously...and are very very creative.
SO far, IMO, he is a good guy....(in the Lib who got mugged kind of way)

I would guess he has more material that could politically damage this administration. Maybe clear evidence of crimes. That may serve as a shield for a time. The public, most of Congress and the news media haven't yet grasped the totality of these revelations. When they do it could go either way for Snowden. A prosecution and trial will be problematic for the government.
