Schlussel gives a grocery list of examples of British anti-Semitism that includes the following gem:
“They seemed to relish in sending Jews back to Hitler-controlled Europe, to be murdered in the Holocaust. While in Palestine, the British soldiers often made anti-Semitic trinkets and dolls to mock the Jews.”
As far as credibility goes, I know who she is. She has survived for years as a blogger who tells it like it is.
As she is Jewish, I think she knows the score on how Jews are treated in England.

Phillips’ article includes the following statement:

....that is an absolute f*cking lie. An absolute lie. British soldiers did no such thing. A vile slander on men who are no longer alive to refute such crap. So not only is she a loony, she is a nasty piece of crap who spews lies about the army who fought longest than anyone to defeat the Nazis and save Europe and the Jews, inc liberating Belsen.
I like Melanie Phillips, and she at least IS British. So unlike Debbie Schittmouth, she actually knows what she is talking about. And you note that she herself points out that any UK antisemitism today is not religious or cultural, but political, and aimed at the state, not the people, religion or culture.
Oh, btw, did you actually read the comments section on her link?. One poster who is Jewish and has lived in both the US and UK states openly that they found the US much more antisemitic!. Oh, the irony.

I dont ‘protest too much’. UK antisemitism (or more to the point England, as Scotland Wales and NI have no history of it) is minor, both historically and now. Contrary to US myth and hype (and the US is in no position to lecture frankly). What antisemitism has existed has historically been confined elements of the upper class OR to the worst knuckle dragging elements of the working class. Britain rejected fascism and antisemitism in the 30’s and it continues to do so now with the BNP. And England has had a very small amount of antisemitism
When your country was declaring a black person to be less than a human being (Dred Scott), Britain was about to elect a Jewish Prime Minister. Britain has had many prominent Jewish politicians. Where oh where is America’s Jewish President?. VP?. 35 after we elected Thatcher, you cant even elect a woman, let alone a Jew.
Most UK ‘antisemitism’ is aimed at Israel and the palestine issue, and many would argue is not antisemitism and such a word is used as a cheap tactic.
Britain is no more an antisemitic nation than the US, and the assertion on FR that it is an antisemitic nation is one vile little slander I will NOT let pass.
