That's the official story I gather, and to put it together a fictitious 'David' was needed. What the images are telling you is another story altogether.
You see two little boys sitting next to each other, one is somewhat less than a year older than the other, and they do not look like brothers...
That's because the boy on the left is Zero in the two little boys image, and although we don't know his birthdate for certain, there are some things we now do know.
1. Sally Jacobs makes it clear that Ruth Baker arrived in Kenya some weeks after the kenyan student returned to Keyna and they married on Christmas Eve in 1964.
2. Mark, their son, was born after her arrival in Kenya.
3. The darker of the two little boys, the one on the right of the image in which the two little boys are sitting next to each other, must therefor have been born in around 1961 according to the ages of both boys.
4. It is now possible to date the family group image in Kenya, about a year after the birth of Mark, because the darker boy from the two little boys image is now shown standing next to his father, and he's quite obviously at least five years old.
The darker, older child would have a birth year of 1961, and was probably born in Hawaii. He apparently went to Kenya with his father in 1964, and that's why you see him with his father, stepmother and half-brother Mark in a family group photograph taken in 1966 when Mark was a toddler and the dark boy was at least five years old.
When the image of the two little boys first appeared on Mark's website, questions were raised about their ID, and shortly afterwards, the following image replaced the original. Freepers commented that the boys looked strange...some saw the change as an attempt to adjust the lighting and to make them more resemble each other. That second image was removed after a very short time.
However, image number two does nothing to dispel the obvious conclusion that the boy on the left is Zero, and the boy on the right is the boy in the family group in Kenya that apparently dates from sometime in 1966.
The reason no one has been able to find anything on 'David' other than conflicting birth/death years and one photograph of a teenager with one black arm and a polynesian cast to his features...is probably because there never was a David.
David is Zero. 'David' had a motorcycle accident and zero has the scars? One good thing about the dark boy; at least you know who his father was, and according to Malik, he grew up with him when they were boys living with Ruth and the kenyan, in Nairobi.
