Shall I call you Scotch?
The proper term for Utah residents is UTAHN.
You are mixing religion and politics. No wonder your questions are so disjointed. Plus, you already have your mind made up as to what the answers should and shall be, so there is no reason for further discussion.
Your outlook on certain groups of people seems somewhat tainted by lies and speculation. You need to live among the Natives before you can understand their culture.
As an aside, if my Scottish heritage results in people with your particular mind-set, I will choose something less abrasive. Perhaps one of my Vik ancestors would be more in keeping with what I expect from an adult “conservative.”
I would like to say it’s been a nice exchange, but the narrowness of information on your part negates any “nicety” on my part.
I haven’t mentioned religion.
Cite where I mentioned religion.
Who do you think will be working at that facility?
Space Aliens?
Do you think the Good Germans who installed the ovens at Auschwitz didn’t know what they were going to be used for?
Do you think the future employees of this data center aren’t aware of what that information will be used for?
Do you think the Stasi weren’t from East Germany?
The anger directed at me over the placement of this facility and the "workers" who will maintain the place is totally inapproriate for a number of reasons:
I do NOT work for Obama.
I do NOT live in Utah.
I have NOT lived in Utah Valley for 40 years.
I HAVE studied German history and know all about who was hired to do what.
I HAVE been to Dachau and Auschwitz and have smelled the ovens.
I HAVE opinions on all of that, but you seem to be reaching for things beyond my ability to satisfy.
If you insist on branding me as a person who is informed on the hiring practices of the idiots in power in DC, then you are SADLY, sadly mistaken.
I do NOT know what your agenda is on attacking me for a comment I made upline, but I think you probably need to back away from the computer, take a sedative of your choice, and try to forget about what is going on in MY house. Which is NOT in Utah Valley.
I am not here to satisfy your desire for revenge for what happened to the Jewish people in Europe before, during and after WWII. I was not born until 1944, and I was born in Reno NV. I had nothing to do with the things that anger you, as I was a child when I moved to Utah, and an older child when I left Utah.
I DO understand that you may feel justified in what you are saying to me about Utah and the facility there, but ONCE AGAIN: I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF IT!
I didn’t say you had anything to do with it.
You made the claim that Utah was full of conservative people.
I asked who you think will be working at this constitution busting facility.
Do you think conservative utah citizens will work there?
Or space aliens?
Why did ‘conservative’ local utah politicians approve this facility being built there, were they given a choice?
Did they rejoice at the local pork they were getting?
The people working there will be responsible for the physical care of the equipment and the physical plant, not the content of the information. They will most likely not be locals, but geeks moved there for the specific purpose of accomplishing the mission.
What about: I DO NOT LIVE IN UTAH do you NOT understand???
What about: I DO NOT WORK FOR ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY IN UTAH OR WASHINGTON DC do you NOT understand???
What about: I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF IT do you NOT understand???
What about: I CANNOT ANSWER FOR SOMEONE ELSE’S DECISIONS, NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE do you NOT understand?
If you want the answers, go to utah.gov and ask the governor. Or ask the mayors of the cities around the facilities. But do NOT ASK ME!!! I don’t LIVE there, I don’t WORK there, and I haven’t done either in over 40 years.
Your questions border on harrassment. Stop.
Oh yeah, the data center is located within the perimeter of Camp Williams, a Utah National Guard training facility - so there is the security aspect...
Thanks. Please address your reply to Black Agnes, as well. S/he seems to think I have inside knowledge to every aspect.
So where in Utah Valley is it located? I can understand the physical reasons, as it’s safe from everything but earthquakes, but I can’t seem to find, in my mind’s eye, a place that has such sparce population in Utah County to house it.
Camp Williams, NW of Lehi.
Right. I got it. No wonder I didn’t recognize the mountains...they were from a totally different angle from what I expected.
There is an amusement part in Lehi, and it is also where Wilfred Bromley (mostly played in Westerns) lives. (Lived?)
There used to be nothing there, except the road to Dugway PG. ;o]
bkmk
amusement part => amusement PARK
If Nolte is asserting that Bush and Cheney were in the same league as the Assclown in violating the spirit of the law regarding the capture and negation of terrorists, he can SHOVE IT as far as I am concerned.
The differences between Bush/Cheney and Assclown/Plugs are as wide as the Mississippi. They are not even in the same ballpark.
And the meme that the media is now trying “Bush did it too!” is garbage. We shouldn’t buy that snake oil.
agree and they are trying to target TX too knowing they will have won the country.
One has to wonder what kind of deal the mormon church has made for access to all this information...what a boon for their missionary program!
A dictator of the mormon stripe will be welcomed with open arms.
The Almighty has established this kingdom with order and laws and every thing pertaining thereto [so] that when the nations shall be convulsed, we may stand forth as saviours and finally redeem a ruined world, not only in a religious but in a political point of view. (Journal of Discourses, vol. 9, p. 342, April 13, 1862)
Take my name off your anti-whatever list. Your arguments have too much to do with religion and not enough to do with the actual incidents that are taking place.
I do NOT appreciate my name being first. I don’t live there, I haven’t lived there for 40 years, and I have no clue what point you are trying to make, nor to whom.
If you think you can entice me with anti-Mormon propaganda, your efforts are falling on deaf ears.
FYI: I could care less about your anti-whatever beliefs, because I am NOT your judge. You can quote, you can wax poetic, and you can cite Scripture. I DO NOT CARE.
You and your views mean absolutely nothing to me, so at best, all I feel for you and your ilk is pity.
Live with your beliefs to the best of your ability. But remember this: You can always choose what you want to do, but no matter what, you CANNOT choose the consequences.
‘Face
My post was a reply to YOUR post that introduced the religion topic:
"The majority of the population is Latter-day Saint. They are known for their obedience to the laws of the land, but they are also conservative, moral and ethical, for the most part.
They are not perfect, but they work on it, no matter what their ethnicity.
They are Patriots for the most part, and do not want to see this country taken over by a dictator of any stripe.
My post simply adds the fact that the main goal of mormonism is to rule the world and force its unChristian religion on every living soul.
I will quote you and your fellow mormons from your post: "But remember this: You can always choose what you want to do, but no matter what, you CANNOT choose the consequences."...judgment day will come for you as it will for everyone.br /
Get a life, Foxxy...I do not appreciate your determination to make all the world a bunch of intolerant “saved Christians.” That is no better than the Muslims and their determination to make the world Shariah.
You are NOT “exempt” from Judgement.
Go away. And leave me alone. I have had enough of you and your clique of rabid anti-everything cohorts.
Go find a REAL cause to fight for.
If you post to me again, I will consider it harrassment.
The people working there will be responsible for the physical care of the equipment and the physical plant, not the content of the information. They will most likely not be locals, but geeks moved there for the specific purpose of accomplishing the mission.
Exactly Ol Sox. FWIW, having lived in MD most of my life, over the years Ive know a couple of people who worked for the NSA or one of its contractors like Booze Allen Hamilton where the now outed whistle blower Snowden worked. A lot of these folks, like one I knew, were former military, a Navy cryptologist and he had been stationed at NSA or NSA related facilities all over the country and all over the world for that matter and had moved, was transferred many times. Of course all I knew was they worked at NSA and not anything about what they did there but none of them that I knew were originally from Maryland or the Ft. Meade area.
Its not as if the NSA is going to put help wanted ads in the local Utah newspapers and hire noobs off the street to work with sensitive information. They might hire some lower level folks locally as Ol Sox said, physical plant maintenance, lawn care, janitorial, very basic admin work, etc., but even they will have to go through a security background check and get a clearance before they can even get on to the grounds or into the building live alone get anywhere the actual data center (and FWIW, that is one of the jobs of the NSA, investigating folks for security clearances). The people who will be running the data center and analyzing the data; active military, direct NSA employees and contractor will for the most part be transferred in from other NSA facilities.
Black Agnes/ greyfoxx39 - Im as upset as anyone about the recent revelations about the NSA but comparing ALL those who work for the NSA or in our military intelligence services to Nazis and Auschwitz workers or making this into some sort of Mormon conspiracy is beyond the pale. Im sure there a good many people working at the NSA who are good patriotic Americans who are not happy with the way things have been going during this administration either and probably glad Snowden stuck his neck out, and I have a feeling more will be coming forward.
But with that being said, we have to be careful not to through the baby out with the bathwater. Legitimate Intel is vitally important to our national security and I would hate to see that capability destroyed. It needs to be reigned in to protect out Constitutionally protected rights and prevent data gathering on innocent Americans for possible purely political purposes but if that is what has happened, we need to get them back to the mission that is in our real national security interests
