The Government's Intelligence and Security Committee is going on a week-long tour, when it will meet senior figures from the Americas intelligence agencies.
The news came after leaked US documents appeared to show that Britains listening post GCHQ has been secretly gathering intelligence from some of the worlds biggest internet firms through Americas National Security Agency.

The NSA is spying on the WORLD ?
The rest of the world ...for a very long time now.
Isn’t Obama meeting Chinese President Xi Xinping right now. That must be awkward. Both are probably asking the same question: “Why are you hacking into my e-mails?”
Obama is just handing over some things the Chinese missed
Ah, those leaks that were so patriotic under Bush are now so despised by His Arrogance and his lackeys.
Helps to read the article rather than just the headline.
The British are upset at the leak, not the spying, because we were sharing PRISM data with their NSA-equivalent, the GCHQ.
The UK and US have been joined at the hip in highly classified signals intelligence since World War II, a relationship built on trust and that both sides would do everything possible to prevent compromise. We’ve been outraged when the British have had traitors compromising shared intelligence, and now the British are undoubtedly outraged at us.
The UK is the USAs best friend.
bama is trying to drive a wedge between us.
For me, none of this stuff about Prism is surprising except for the particulars. Remember similar programs run back in the nineties, where electronic traffic was being scanned and vacuumed up based on key words? This is probably more advanced since technology is no doubt better. But same idea.
Back then, though, you were a conspiracy theorist if you talked about it. Now you have the president, O if anyone has forgotten, confirming its existence on nationwide TV. And the news companies running the story around the clock.
For me, this is just another classified national secret exposed by the Democrats. Like exposing on page one of the New York Times how we were monitoring Bin Ladin’s communications, how we tracked his money flows, the secret eastern european safe houses, the secret airline for transporting prisoners, all exposed by the Dems and their pals in the press. Now they expose PRISM and blab on about it while expressly *not* talking about Benghazi, running guns to the mafia, running guns to Al Qaeda, knocking over governments on behalf of Muslim Brotherhood, spying on congress, siccing the IRS on their enemies, siccing the EPA and OSHA and Interior on their enemies, and on and on.
This is par for the course. If there is something you don’t want to talk about, flood the air with an alternate scandal and the other scandals fade away into the shadows. Clinton was a master at this and so are Obama’s handlers.
0bama’s doing a great job of sabotaging our foreign relations. Britain should’ve cut all ties to the U.S. the moment 0bama returned the bust of Winston Churchill.
"You're fine, how am I?"
If the British want to help the American people they could go to their archives and produce the documentation that is referred to in the table of content in referance to the child born to Obama Sr in 1961!
Caught with his pants down around his ankles. The eyes of the world are on him. It’s not just a bunch of conservatives and tea party people criticizing him. The pit bull tactics have worn thin and are causing many to not believe the president’s excuses or to trust what government people under him are doing right under his nose (despite hundreds of trips by them to HIS office).
I think Obama has had another terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week.
doing the work Americans (press) won’t do.
Not only that, they should have checked if it was bugged.
It probably was.
Think maybe he jumped the shark when he leaked Israel’s TS launchbase?

Andre rest of the world, especially Israel.
