The idea that she was trying to frame the husband using the gun theme could mean that guns had nothing to do with it, that it was just a ploy. That is plausible, maybe even likely, but until I hear law enforcement say it explicitly, I’m not going to assume anything. I don’t want to have to backtrack.
Right now they are saying she was trying to frame the husband. If that changes, then we have a different ballgame.
In her attempt to frame, if true, they are saying she is behind the letters that threatened to shoot anyone who would come for the sender’s guns. At this point, if they don’t arrest the husband and they only go after her and continue claiming she is the sole perp, then the gun/shooting threat portion would have been her invention along with everything else that happened.
But of course, that perspective would change if they decide both her and her husband were involved.
My only thought was, maybe he has guns and she thought that would be a good way to set him up, send threats to known anti gun figures, threats to shoot if anyone ever showed up to take his guns, then we know she called authorities and claimed her husband was behind the ricin letters. The authorities visited the home in New Boston, TX and have interviewed both her and her husband extensively.
It remains to be seen. Only if the husband was actually behind this and she’s telling the truth would literally a gun issue arise. If he’s not, as it looks at this point, then everything about him threatening anti gun figures and threatening anyone who would come after his guns is made up by her.
So even if he has guns and would not let them be confiscated without resistance, if he did not do any of this letter sending and threatening, then guns don’t actually come into play.
