He said the "modest" encroachments on privacy are the worth the trade-off on fighting terrorism. His administration couldn't even effectively use the human intel supplied by the Russians to stop the Boston bombers. They don't need a fire hydrant of more data, they need to work with the intel they already have.

Well, well, he certainly has changed his tune from bashing Bush when he was the Junior Senator from IL and when he was running for Presidency wrt phone and other surveillance. It wasn’t OK to do it under strict and lesser occurences, but it’s okey dokey for the Won to expand on it because of terrorist threats (even though he said the War on Terror is over). feh

Listening is the key word.
They are not "listening".
At least not in "real time."
They are simply RECORDING AND DOCUMENTING all of them and then they will only listen to them when they feel the need, like when they need a certain Supreme Court Justice to write a certain favorable opinion on a certain Health Care Law.

there was no Benghazi, no IRS targeting,
and no listening in on anyone."

He said a program monitoring U.S. citizens takes numbers but not content or names of the users... Right, and it's really difficult to take a phone number and look up the name of the customer. I can't imagine how anyone would perform that miracle.
I don't know what's worse, people who believe this pathetic lying, or the possibility that our sitting President is stupid enough to believe it himself.

Now, we ALL know who the terror groups this government is really after or in fear of. The people taking back their government. We can't say the word terrorists or that Islam is a religion of hate now in many facets. But, they are spying on the people here to see who/what they consider to be terrorist activity.. The IRS targeting, same here. They can spin and lie until cows fly. Not buying their untruths. Obama lies. Hillary lies. Their political enemies are punished. Soldiers, wag the dog when needed as hundreds of thousands of veterans cannot even get on disability and ole I don't like my country activist, is suppose to be the helper (to see they get what they need) of the vets. They are targeting the patriotic Americans by spying.
To: maggief
...but not content or names of the users... Uh-huh. Then why do it? How will no names or "content" help to stop or catch "terrorists"?
The liar is lying again. As if that needed to be said...
