Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife, Lyudmila, have announced that they have separated and their marriage is over.
The 60-year-old and his 55-year-old wife broke the news of the end of the 29-year marriage in an obviously staged TV interview after a night at the ballet that made no mention of Putin's alleged mistress, former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabayeva, 30.
Asked on Rossiya-24 television about longstanding rumours that the Putins no longer lived together, the 60-year-old Putin said: 'That is true.'
But neither clarified whether they were legally divorced and Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said he did not know.
The obviously staged interview made no mention of Alina Kabayeva, a 30-year-old former gymnast who is rumoured to have been Putin's mistress for years.

Give her a few years in Russia, as a politician’s chick.
In light of this revelation, it makes me wonder what obama was really trying to say when he told Medvedev “After my election I have more flexibility.”
Avoiding you, just like she was me.
Most gymnasts don’t have a pair of gazongas like that.
Makes the whole balancing thing much more difficult.
Chicks digs power!
Vlad you devil. :-)
Based on the ball in one pic and the stuff on her shoulder in another, it’s rythm gymnastics; nothing to fall off of
“Come and keep your Comrade warm.”
Jeff,
Females have chosen dominant, powerful males since before our ancestors began the long march out of Olduvai Gorge.
They are just “doin’ what comes naturally”.
ROFL
LOL- well no armpit hair is a good thing!
Looks as authentic as the BC!
Obviously you aren’t a man like Vlad.
Nothing like that post-coitis cigarette eh???
Self satisfied?
I know people in Russia. They hope for a day when their liberty and freedom to express themselves, to enjoy the fruits of their own labors, to make the decisions that will enable them and their children to hope for a better life and progress in their communities and nation comes close to anything we currently enjoy here in the United States...even with the mess Obama and the progressive left and RINOS are making of things.
Right now, our direction vector is, sadly, pointed in their direction.
My point is that those things are not Putin's chief concern. His chief concerns are doing whatever he feels is necessary to maitain his power base first and foremost. And his background makes it abundantly clear that he is willing to go to almost any lengths to secure that interest.
I understand that...it is sadly, among some (certainly not all) a common thing.
I am commenting more on Putin than the girl. I mean Monica Lewinsky was an adult too and chose the path that was opened to her. That does not mean that Clinton did not take abject advantage of a younger, more naive person for his own gratification, and that what he did in the matter was not wrong both morally and ethically.
What Putin did fits the same mold. Just another place, another face. But the base motivations are the same...on both sides.
I do not and never have contended that Putin is a saint or “good guy” to his people.
My point is that Putin does not sell out the international interests of Russia when he deals with other countries. He does not bow to foreign leaders. He does not gut his military. He does not empower regimes hostile to Russia.
I cannot say the same about Barack Hussein 0bama, who is little different than Putin in his vision for domestic politics, but vastly different in his vision of the international standing of his country.
