What are peoples opinion about the iCloud or offline backup services?
Is it secure at all or should I just go ahead rent my offline storage and backup from NSA directly?

As for cellphones and wireless handsets, we should probably simply assume someone is recording every bit we transmit or receive.
You don't really need the cooperation of cell phone companies to do that.
They may not have people to go through it all but massive data crunching computers can certainly look for patterns and raise flags.
