Jason Collins will get the festivities started for the Boston Red Sox and their fans headed to Fenway Park for "Pride Night."
WEEI (h/t NBC Sports) reports that the former Boston Celtics player, who last played for the Washington Wizards, will toss out the first pitch.
The honor goes to Collins on "Pride Night," which will take place on Thursday in a game against the Texas Rangers. For more information, you can visit the website of Boston Pride, an organization that "produces events and activities to achieve inclusivity, equality, respect, and awareness in Greater Boston and beyond."

Sounds much more benign, much less controversial. Quite frankly, no one would care why an NBA player was throwing out the first pitch. But a GAY NBA player, well that's something worth watching!
I wish the Lord would just fire up the Rapture Machine already. I'm getting quite fatigued with this world.
June has been designated “gay pride month” in the city of Boston for years. The city hangs rainbow flags all over the place. The Sox are riding the annual “gay” celebration train.
Boston/New England is the reason we are regarded as the ‘Great Satan’.
The Red Sox also participate in a ‘anti-gay bullying’ campaign aimed as youngsters known as ‘It Gets Better’. Unfortunately; it didn’t get better for several hundred victims at the Boston Marathon.
People who have do all this ‘pride’ stuff have low self-esteem and high self-doubt. Normal people don’t go around with ‘pride’ flags.
I enjoy posting this stuff cuz I know that somewhere, sometime, some liberal will blow a gut over it. Normal people, don’t take it seriously.
I’d like for someone from the Boston Red Sox to explain to me what, exactly, is praiseworthy about a male being obsessed with another male’s filthy anal area.
I wonder what Ted Williams would think about this?
For the record, a friend sent me an e-mail earlier this week and said he was in Boston. Noticed a bunch of males dressed in pink holding clipboards for women's (and possibly gay) issues and many of the men were in wigs, wearing lipstick, high boots, etc.
