The way I read it was the two home owners that hosted the fund raiser were the only ones billed.

The town, which is home to Google guru Erick Schmidt, was pissy over the amount of cash spent to accommodate the event and was ballsy enough to send invoices to the White House, the Democratic National Committee, the Secret Service and both homeowners.

I was going off the above line in the story, which stated that they sent bills off to the White House, the DNC, the Secret Service and both homeowners.

Now they're talking about putting a lien against the property of the two homeowners who hosted events, as I doubt there's much White House, Secret Service or DNC property within the town's limits.

It still seems that the town has some belief that the American people should foot the bill for a private event, in two of the entities that they sent invoices off to.

Exactly. This is just another hit piece. Obama is not a king, let him pay for his extravagances, not the homeowners in the towns he visits.
