Kirk Douglas looks around America these days and he sees too many guns.
The 96-year-old actor, best known for performances in classic films like Spartacus, Paths of Glory and Lust for Life, took to the cyber pages of The Huffington Post to call for more gun control--and far less guns.
I often played the good cowboy on screen, riding in to save the day. Now, everybody thinks he is a cowboy too. That frightens me. We have become a cowboy country with too many guns....
I cannot understand the people who are against some form of gun control. They should be the first to welcome a message on making it more difficult to get a gun. Many of them seem to propose more guns being available to everybody. Why? Are they interested in making more money for the gun manufacturers? Are they politicians who just want to oppose the president in anything he endorses? It's incomprehensible to me.

It warms my heart (/s) that, in the middle of what appears to be the greatest assault on our civil liberties since, well, ever . . . I need to give a damn what Kirk Douglas was reported to have said a day ago.
I watched his cowboy movies many moons ago. “Gunfight at the OK Corral” (1957) was a favorite of mine.
I had no idea he was still alive and kicking. But evidently not entirely in his right mind any more.
Wonder who wrote the lines about guns that he read as an actor.
Kirk Douglas, you OLD FART, go drink that Ensure and put on those Depends to catch all that sh*t you are espousing.
This from a Jew who seems to forget what Hitler and Stalin did to the Jews who couldn’t defend themselves from a totalitarian government. Fools learn NOTHING from history.
Douglas went on to say how America has too few incontinence diapers.
Damn, I didn’t know he was still alive. Apparently in the late stages of senile dementia though.
No kidding? I wonder what his wife thinks about that. Ewww...
Why do people who make their living pretending to be other people think they have some special status to teach the rest of us how to live? Just who is this guy and what has he really accomplished that would put him on an elevated moral plain?
He sure isn’t Charlton Heston either.
Hasn’t he had a few serious Strokes? I doubt that statement was even said or written by him.
I’ll take the cowboys over those Hollywood degenerates any day.
No kiddin’! lol
Being an entertaining actor qualifies one for being......an entertaining actor.
Not a Constitutional scholar or any thing else for that matter.
Sorry Kirk, your opinion is of no value in the USSA.
Now I know what “senile” looks like and talks like.
and work as ordinary citizens and shop as ordinary citizens and take care of their own children without nannys,
and have no gates protecting them from the world, and no special private schools for their children,
and no body guards.
..when that happens, I'm sure the whole of America will give up their guns...
He was a really good actor but not very good on politics.
I will give him credit for living 96 years tho.
I appreciate his service in the Navy, WWII. That being said, he should ask to be removed from the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
WELL SIR HERE’S A BIG OLE YEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWWWW ATCHA (scuse me while I reload)
