The government's attack on AP and Fox is an example of a government generated crisis that serve as an excuse to push through the legislation they wanted all along - a Shield Law.
It was quite deliberate.
With a Shield Law, the WH can leak all they want without fear of being found out.
And the media can write all the crap they want about conservatives and nobody can ask where they got it from.
As far as the loopholes, it was not long ago that the WH suggested that journalists be trained, vetted and accredited by the government. For Accuracy (HAH!).
That fizzled out but don't be surprised if it comes up again. They want only their trained lapdogs covered by the Shield, no one else.

I could be wrong, but somehow I have a feeling that the attack on AP is only a ruse. Remember how the left including that arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave hates Fox News .
