WASHINGTON (AP) - The National Security Agency has been collecting the telephone records of millions of U.S. customers of Verizon under a top secret court order, according to a report in Britain's Guardian newspaper.
The order was granted by the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on April 25 and is good until July 19, the newspaper reported Wednesday. The order requires Verizon, one of the nation's largest telecommunications companies, on an "ongoing, daily basis" to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its systems, both within the U.S. and between the U.S. and other countries.

Yes, after Bambi’s 4th term, he’s gonna make a lot of phone calls on behalf of him and Alinsky. The ultimate database to spread his godless ideology.
Repeal the Patriot Act and then repeal obama (IMPEACH)!
LLS
No doubt the records of Fox reporters and conservatives are provided to Obama’s political team.
I’m not surprised.
I think I see a pattern here....
Only because that information isn't stored.

Has this been in U.S. papers?
Today’s installment of lies from Jay Carney should be interesting.
I would think that collecting people’s texts would be the Fedgov’s goal rather than their phone calls, which would reveal nothing but their associations. Texts can reveal much more.
I agree 100%, but remember all of the freepers salivating at what a great thing Shrub did was when it was passed? I had the effrontery to mention this was a bad thing (along with no child left behind and prescription drug give away) on the odious estrogen fueled day in the life of George Bush thread, and the number of whiney women typing nasty things about me while sitting in their wet chairs was truely discouraging.
Verbal gymnastics galore.
I’m going to guess that AT&T gave up this information too.
Is this Scandal # 4 or Scandel #5?
And the fascists aren’t looking at the records of tea party people, anti-abortion people, anti obamacare people.
Believe that and I have a bridge for sale.
If they’re getting the data from Verizon, they’re getting it from everyone. This is actually a quarterly renewal of a search warrant first issued in 2006, but Obama gets the credit for reqesting extensions that last 4+ years. Wonder if the info is shared with other agencies.
This Freeper here sure wasn’t salivating over the Patriot Act.
Meanwhile, people are too outraged at the controversy to visualize why this information is being captured and realize what real dangers are lurking. The allah monkeys are trying to make 911 seem small compared to their next attack.
