This senate would never convict, impeachment is a dead end, it has nothing to do with courage or cowardice on the part of the GOP, it's a political fact unless there is a seismic change in thinking.

I would not doubt that Bambi is waiting for the right crisis to declare some kind of martial law; impeachment might give that to him.
