Seattle, Washington isn’t a suburb of San Fransisco?
In a manner of speaking, it is.
Washington state and Oregon, until the last 20 years or so, were always more conservative than California. No nonsense, hard working lumbermen and commercial fishing.
Then it happened.
In the 1970's, the migration began. The mean-faced, clipped--haired, weight-challenged, Volvo driving, retired female high school P.E. teachers decided the Pacific Northwest was the place to be. The trickle became a flood and they brought their politics with them. Now, the social and environmental politics of Seattle, San Francisco and Portland are the farthest left in the country and are indiscernible.
