BTW the command is to "remember" not to honor. The verse refers to those who "led" you not those who "ruled over you." The context is in regard to those who were martyred for the faith or otherwise had died. The command is to remember the sacrifice of those who have fallen and to follow the example of the dead saints and martyrs.

Well, how about this one?

"Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well." 1 Peter 2:13-14
