In January, Geraldo Rivera said he was thinking of running in 2014 for Sen. Frank Lautenbergs seat. Now, after the senator's passing, Gov. Chris Christie has the politically perilous task of naming a replacement.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) needs to pick a replacement for the Garden States Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died Monday. As many pundits note, this is a task thats fraught with political peril for Governor Christie: Pick someone deemed too liberal by conservatives, and he damages his presidential chances. Pick someone deemed too conservative by Democrats, and he damages his standing in his own blue-tinged state. Whats a shrewd, popular governor to do?
Two words: Geraldo Rivera. Or as the mustachioed news crusader would probably say it himself, Geraldo! Rivera!

Geraldo has an in with the new company taking over Hostess, so that may be an enticement for Governor Krispy.
I think I am going to puke.
Chuck Todd @chucktodd 6h Christie's 1st 2nd and 3rd choice for senate seat is Tom Kean Sr., Tom Kean Sr. and Tom Kean Sr. But he wants Kean to agree to run in spec Retweeted by Bret Baier

Two words: GET REAL
Since “Ralph Kramden” Christie is really a “card carrying” Dem he will most likely choose a Dem to replace Lautenberg!

Geraldo?
Christie might as well just go the whole nine yards and appoint someone like Julian Bond or Rev, Wright.
At least they admit what they are.
That would work for me too.
What, Geraldo Rivera the Fake Reporter to be a Fake Senator
His best bet would be to pick a boring GOP state lawmaker like Kyrillos.
That way he shows the national GOP that he is reliable.
He shows the Democrats that he is focusing on competence and experience, so they cannot complain that he is appointing an unqualified celebrity.
In the fall comes the special election. If Rivera enters the race as an independent against Booker and Kyrillos, best case scenario is Kyrillos wins.
Most likely scenario, Booker wins but not with a full majority.
Worst case scenario, NJ voters pull a Minnesota and elect Rivera.
Is this a serious article!? Frickin’ GERALDO in the Senate?
Let’s see. Press conference in a few minutes.
This will say a lot.
Appointing either Kean, Sr. or Geraldo is ludicrous. Kean, Sr. is 78 and Geraldo turns 70 next month. I guess appointing someone 40 years younger is too much to ask.
