The police department makes no money when someone is arrested. In fact, each arrest costs more to make than is ever recovered by any fine for traffic or criminal arrest.

Are you suggesting government, city, county, state, feds, etc., make no money and or do not recover the money it took to arrest someone, through imposed fines, fees and asset seizures etc?

Could I see the link to this?

What I am saying is when you calculate all of the time involved in a drunk driving arrest...

Could I see a link to this?

And BTW, you said "traffic or criminal" above...And are you referring to all arrests?

“If the government lies, threatens and intimidates law abiding citizens, should we not assume government lies and breaks the laws as a matter of routine even during their checkpoint operations?”

If I really thought so, I would leave the country. How is Canada BTW?

This is all really interesting barney...The last time I was in a court, I saw more lines at cash registers than a super Walmart

If I could see that link...

BTW, if government loses money on arrests fines, fees, and asset seizures, how is it possible cops, DA's and others in government are able to retire on lottery style retirement pensions in their 50s?

Why do you consistently evade these questions?

Here it is again:

Are you suggesting the government is trustworthy, would never spy on, harm, threaten or intentionally intimidate law abiding citizens?

Sorry, I cannot supply a link.... all I can tell you after doing ten budgets for my former police agency; our expenses were not reimbursed by fines and asset seizures. So, I would challenge you to supply a link that asserts that all police arrests are compensated by fines, etc.

So you cannot back up your own statements?

OK.

Your the police budget expert butya can't provide a link to substantial your own claims? BTW, I never made those assertions, those are your words.

Well, I suggest you link to the budget of your local law enforcement agency and look at their budget. There will be a line item for asset seizures and fines. Then go to the total expense for the law enforcement agency and see if the seizures and fines total more than the budget item for law enforcement.

Obviously you think I am less than honest, well you know, everyone has an opinion... I stated mine and well you did too...

No, I am suggesting police officers working a DUI checkpoint are not spying on us.

Focus. Think rationally.

Tell me pappy, are you suggesting the government is trustworthy, would never spy on, harm, threaten or intentionally intimidate law abiding citizens?

No, I am suggesting police officers working a DUI checkpoint are not spying on us.

I see, so according to you that part of government is perfectly legitimate and free of corruption? Do you feel the same for the governments war on other drugs?

The reality is that more parts of municipal governments profit from the DUI/drug possession gravy train than just LE.

That said, cops in CA are absurdly expensive, even more so than the rest of the country. I'm not surprised whatever seizures, fines, and administrative costs collected from vice crimes don't even make a dent in the cost.

CA is a joke.

“I see, so according to you that part of government is perfectly legitimate and free of corruption? “

Once again, your argument is based on teenage girl emotion rather than logic. Did I say that? No. But your “you must think I am fat” emotional irrational side has take over.
Maybe you should stomp your foot to show me how serious you are.
