If that is his picture, he is one of the strangest looking things I have ever seen. He looks like he should be in some Japanese weirdo play.
The city state of Thebes had what they called the Golden Band which is maybe 200 pairs of homosexual lovers. When Alexander fought and eventually killed them, he said the were a tough bunch. I was a classics major for a while and I don’t think the Greeks version of homosexuality was the same as ours.
I am sure we would find it odd but it was not committing sodomy but just real good friends which went a little too far.
Alexander’s Macedonians were probably on an even talent-wise with the Spartans and they had trouble beating the Thebiana with their sacred band. They did beat them tho.
