Deadly Attack by Taliban Leaves 2 Troops and 10 Schoolchildren Dead
CBS/AP June 3, 2013
A suicide bomber targeting an American military delegation outside a government office in eastern Afghanistan killed 12 people on Monday, including nine schoolchildren who were walking nearby and two international service members, officials said.
The attack comes as the Taliban and other militants step up bombings and raids on police posts nationwide in a major test of the ability of Afghan soldiers and police to hold their ground without international military forces, who are withdrawing
....the bomber on a motorcycle detonated his explosives in Samkani district as American forces passed. He said a local school had just let pupils, who were between 10 and 16 years old, out for the day. |
Today is a reminder of what our troops are facing every day. Our enemies attack without any concern for the lives they ruin. Ten school children who were just let out of school were killed along with 2 troops from a US-led patrol in the market.
We can't forget about our troops, what they face, or who they are fighting every day to make Afghanistan safe for the people who live there. As the temperatures rise in the Summer, so do the attacks by Taliban forces on our troops. The summer is known as the "fighting season" in Afghanistan, meaning that terrorists who retreat to small villages and lay low during the winter will return to the battlefield.
This is the most dangerous time for our troops in Afghanistan and they need your support!

The drawdown diet: Marines steamed by loss of hot meal at Afghanistan base
By Bill Briggs, NBC News contributor May 31, 2013
Marines at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan will lose a key daily meal starting Saturday, causing some to forgo a hot breakfast and others to work six-plus hours without refueling on cooked food, according to Marines at the base and Marine Corps officials.
The midnight ration service - known there as "midrats" - supplies breakfast to Marines on midnight-to-noon shifts and dinner to Marines who are ending noon-to-midnight work periods. It's described as one of the few times the Marines at Leatherneck can be together in one place.
While no Marine at Camp Leatherneck agreed to speak on the record, many are privately angry about the hit on base morale.
"This boils my skin. One of my entire shifts will go 6.5 hours without a meal. If we need to cut back on money I could come up with 100 other places," one Leatherneck-based Marine wrote in an email this week to his wife and shared with NBC News. (The Marine declined to speak on the record.) "Instead, we will target the biggest contributor to morale. I must be losing my mind. What is our senior leadership thinking? I just got back from flying my ass off and in a few days, I will not have a meal to replenish me after being away for over 9 hours."
Back home, spouses and friends of the troops in Afghanistan are criticizing the loss of hot meals as a poor logistical choice that will impact the service members' overall nutrition, energy and spirits. |
Your typical MRE provides nutrition, but no taste
Your typical MRE provides nutrition, but no taste, but a care package from home gives a soldier goodies that taste great and the personal care items that make deployment a little easier. Even more importantly, a care package provides moral support and the morale boost from knowing that someone back home cares and appreciates their service. DoD is doing the best they can to provide for our troops, but it's simply not good enough. We can do better!

(This is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire; or both)

Yep that it is. He's too busy supporting Al-Qaeda and his handler's (Valerie Jarrett, Islamic Sharia Law/Muslim Terrorist Jihad Supporter) Muslim Brotherhood "Freedom Fighters" to properly feed the troops.
He's rather spend OUR money arming the Al-Qaeda run rebels in Syria with war style munitions.
Heck, he even watched 4 Americans die for the cause that he is so dedicated to. Didn't want any witnesses to his and his lackey's (Holder, Clinton et al) crimes
Thanks for the post and BUMP!
